Results-Driven Accountability (RDA)

What do stakeholders need to know about RDA?

  • RDA is a federal initiative that will impact special education students & teachers.  It is the revised accountability system from the federal Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP).

  • RDA stands for Results-Driven Accountability, but Wisconsin has deemed it RDA: StL or Reading Drives Achievement:  Success through Literacy.   States are allowed to choose a focus for RDA and Wisconsin has chosen literacy outcomes.

  • RDA requires districts to ensure that measurable learning is occurring and teachers are maintaining high expectations of students.

  • The accountability system will now focus on compliance and results.
